01-001  -  IEME TEMS Patch

The IEME Tactical EMS Patch is a beautiful patched especially designed by the IEME Graphics Department for our TEMS Students and Instructors.
The Patch was designed so that it may be easily attached and removed from uniforms, coats and body armor by having hook and loop style backing applied directly onto the patch.  Persons wearing ADU uniforms will be able to apply the patch quickly and easily.
The Patch, using a subdued color scheme of black, gray and silver, is circular with a rocker at the bottom and a sword passing thought the patch.
The center of the patch displays the IEME TEMS Logo (an Eagle sitting on top of Flight Wings.  The Flight Wings display a “Star of Life” in the center).  Two Silver Stars contained within the encircling border flank the IEME TEMS Logo.  The upper part of the border displays IEME International and the bottom of the boarder displays “Tactical Medic Operations.”  Inside the patch rocker is the TEMS Program motto of “So Others May Live” which is a derived from the company motto of “Servmus, Aut Ceteri Vivant.”
Measures: 3.5" W x 5.5" H.  Colors: Silver, Gray and Black.

Patch symbolism:
The patch is symbolic in that it is striking a balance between the warrior and the warrior healer.
The circular design symbolizes that all life has a starting and ending point, and the sword passing though the circle of life indicating that conflict often disrupts the circle.
The checkered background denotes the very nature of both the tactical environment and emergent medical care those being characterized by periods of trouble and controversy as well as periods of success.
The Flight Wings with the Star of Life in the Center and Eagle symbolizes that the very nature of tactical environment may necessity that care be administered under flight, but symbolizes the humanitarian efforts that the warrior medic will undertake, and is embodied in the motto “so others may live.”
In sharp conflict, the two flanking battle stars symbolizes that a warrior medic may also need to be a combatant to protect their team members, themselves, their charge or the mission.
