Course Description:
This program is desinged to teach you how to handle medical, traumatic and psychiatric emergencies; ranging from simple cuts to Heart Attacks and Strokes. Our curriculum follows the Federal Department of Transportation guidelines, but exceeds both the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services and DOT's minimum requirements. For the student wishing to obtain his/her certification as an EMT, upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to sit for the State of Massachusetts and National Registry of EMT's Emergency Medical Technician's Basic Exam. Price excludes textbook and all exam/certification fees. Approved for Veteran's Benefits You may not use an IEME application for any class at Massasoit Community College or UMASS-Dartmouth. You must either call them direct or use thier application, which may be downloaded in the sign up area for that class.

Course Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
18 Years old (at time of State Exam)
Read, Write and Speak English
Driver's License
6th Grade Reading Comprehension
Immunizations: TB, MMR
